Installing PodPress PlugIns For WordPress
The purpose of podpress plugin is to create podcasts where you can syndicate your podcast to directories service such as I-Tunes. The first step is to create a Mp3 of yourself talking. Then you would need the podpress plugin to create an interface where people can press play or stop and listen to your podcast. You can read your articles and then submit the audio to I-tunes podcast directory.
First step is you need Audacity to Record Your Self Talking. Audacity is software to record yourself. After downloading and installing Audacity. You need the Lame Decoder. To Decode this to a Mp3 format. You can download this relatively very easy also. You will Save Your Audio as a Mp3 File.After that I will go over the steps in Installing PodPress Plug In to Your WordPress Blog. Installing PodPress Plugins was a pain.But, First Install It by Going To The website and downloading it. After installing. You Have To Configure the Podpress. This would give more traffic to your website as well as backlinks.
The Second step is you need FTP Software To Upload Your Files From your computer to your hosts server. Then it will be alive on the internet. Uploading Process Goes like this. First you upload the file podpress from your computer to server. You do this this by opening up your FTP Program. I use Filezilla. You will open up this FTP Program and you should see two screens. The Lefthandside is your computer side and the righthandside is the hosts server side. All you do is drag and drop your file that says podpress to the computer side that says wp-content. You will drag and drop the podpress file to the wp-content file. Then your will do the same thing to your mp3 file you recorded and saved on your desktop. But this time you will upload the mp3 file to the wp-content/uploads file. So your mp3 file should now be in the uploads file.Now after you install it. You need to go to the wordpress administration control panel and activate the podpress plugins. This should be in a folder called plugins. Double click plugins and you should see podpress. Then you just click on activate it.The next step you will click on podpress on the left menu. There should be different setting menus there. First click on the I-tunes setting and configurate that. Title, Blog description and I-tunes summary. After you do this you need to validate your RSS Feed to see if it is working properly.
Next click on General Settings. The URl of media files directory should already be filled in on the first box. The Second Field says Local Files On Directory Files has a blank box.Underneath that box you should see a url description. All you need to do is copy and paste the url description underneath the blank box to the blank box that was empty from before. Ctrl+C to Copy and Ctrl+V to paste this url into the blank field. Once you copy and paste this into the blank field you have to make some corrections. For example you might have two forward slashes in the url so just delete one of them in the url. There is a space at the end of the url that should be deleted. After you delete the space, replace it will a forward slash /. Then click on the update setting below and the bottom of the screen. Go to the i-tunes music store. then click on podcasts link. Then you will find a link that says Learn More. Click on that and you will see submit podcast link. You will enter your Rss Feed Url into the first field that says Podcast Feed Url. Then click the button Continue. A dialogue box should pop up asking you for your I-tunes Password. Fill that in and click on Continue and the next screen should say Thank You For Submitting To I-tunes. Your Rss Feed is put on I tunes Podcast Directory and you should be getting more traffic to your website.
