GST effect: Apple cuts iPhone, iPad prices in India
One day after the goods and services tax (GST) came into effect, Apple has cut retail prices for tomorrow models iPhones, iPads, Mac and Apple watch for their consumers in India.
The Apple iPhone 7 (32GB version) Rs 60,000 can now be purchased at Rs 56 200. The Rs 70,000 iPhone 7 (128GB) is now available for Rs 65,200 and Rs variant 80000256 Go to Rs 74,400.
The base model (32GB) of Apple iPhone 7 Plus is now available in Rs 67,300 instead of 72,000 Rs previously.
The 32GB model of the iPhone OS (Rs 27,200), gathered in Bangalore, will now cost Rs 26,000. The iPhone 6s 32GB (50,000 rupees) is now available for Rs 46,900.
The new prices took into account the basic customs duty (BCD) of 10 percent.
“We think the best way for Apple to increase its share in India is to bridge the gap between affordability and the ambitious value of the iPhone, even in the past have proven successful with 4S, 5S and iPhone 6 by reducing the price, “said Tarun Pathak IANS, senior analyst, mobile devices and ecosystems at New Delhi Research Research Counterpoint.
